Dear Ones
Sending love and peace to all Green Island Sangha members as the storm approaches.
So today we are happy to offer another
Peace in the Storm conference call meditation at 4:30 PM.
The conference call number is 218-632-0550
access code 180173#
Please note that area code 218 is Minnesota.
Please join us for some peace together in the storm.
If you cannot join us by phone breathe with us as we calm our inner storms and inner stories and be peace and be safe.
If anyone needs support or help or a place to stay there are sangha members offering support so please reach out.
I know our sisters and brothers to the south are already in the storm...we send
our love.
Sunday morning our sangha decided not to meet in person as many sangha members
needed to either continue to prepare for the storm or evacuate but we did very much
still want to practice together especially in light of what was unfolding.
So instead we met by free conference call and our facilitator Veronica offered us a
deep relaxation and 2 songs from A Basket of Plums (An Island to Myself & And When I
Rise)
There were about 8 of us on the call and we came from all coasts of Long Island from
Great Neck, Sea Cliff, Bayville, Greenport on the North Shore/Long Island Sound,
to Riverhead on Peconic Bay to Bayport, Freeport and Long Beach on the South Shore/
Atlantic Ocean. Most of these areas are now flooding or near flooding.
Most of us are in a flood zone or evacuation area so there is a lot of hurry and
worry energy all around.
It was wonderful practicing being peace within as the storm is approaching and
feeling others around us racing intensely.
For one hour we offered each other support to stop, breathe, rest, relax and be
peace within as Sandy was/is approaching.
We did this along with after the sit, checking in with those sangha members living
on canals or in flood areas and offering support and refuge at other sangha members
homes for those needing to evacuate.
For now, I offer 2 storm practices sent by another GISer Candie for us all.

Hope to "see" you on the conference call today.
Breathing and sending love and may all be safe
