Blue Cliff Day of Mindfulness

what follows are some photos taken from the Budding Flower Facebook site. If you have any photos from the day that you would like to share please email them to Grnislandsangha@aol.com and we will gladly add them here!....

The community of monk/nuns of Blue Cliff invited practitioners from around the region to a Special Day of Mindfulness on AUGUST 15th 2010 (Sunday) in Blue Cliff Monastery. This DOM was hosted by the monastics of Deer Park and Blue Cliff. During lunch, the monastics participated in an alms round, begging for food as lay practitioners offered cooked food into their bowl. The lay practitioner also followed behind the monastics serving the food provided on the serving tables. Everyone walked mindfully in two lines men & women then eating together in the big Meditation Hall. According to the monastics It happened like that every day during the Buddha's time.

Thank you to the London Sangha for helping us to arrange with the Hammersmith Apollo to stream this talk live. Please consider making a donation to cover the cost of offering this for all. Thank you.

We are planning to stream a good part, if not all, of Thay's talks at the Nottingham England Retreat from 13-18 August. The orientation will take place at around 7:30 PM BST (UTC +1) British Summer Time, on 13 August, 2010. Stay tuned to Thay's Facebook Page for more details.
The following links bring you to a talk was offered by Thich Nhat Hanh on the 11th of August, 2010, at the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre in London. Thay teaches about the Noble Eightfold Path, and offers a session of questions and answers. This talk was streamed live at stream.pvweb.org.
